Working a bit different because experimentation is art
If you are an artist, I hope you get bored.
Boredom is the sensation of our brains preparing themselves to be creative. Being an artist is to be creative.
The best way of stopping being bored is to do something to occupy the time. You know, go play bubble pop, or something.
Of course, if you do that, then you are stopping your brain moving into that creative mode. But do you care?
Well you should. Because that’s what you should be doing.
An artist should always be experimenting. Not at the cost of the paying work, but certainly make time for it.
For example. Here we have a picture of Magrat Garlick I did recently in watercolour. Watercolour is something I haven’t really dug deep on. I thought it was time to do it, turning one of my pencil drawings from last year into real world colour.
I really enjoyed the process.
I am currently also working hard on developing some ways of working in zbrush, but then going from that to producing the work in the real world. It’s all quite exciting, and I think improving my work.
This is what that looks like…
So, are you experimenting?
