Trevor Lingard is a new chap I’ve come across…in the Clitheroe Bike Club to which I belong. He’s a self taught watercolourist, and by ‘eck he’s good!
Makes my poultry efforts
- Lancashire canal and viaduct watercolour painting Saddleworth viaduct, Uppermill
- Watercolour and ink Blackpool tower…there’s a famous seaside place called Blackpool
- Pathway through the trees
- Door
…..all a little bit weak!
Trying to get this looseness of flow is what watercolours are all about. Oh well!
Trevor is self taught, but teaches, and is a fully fledged seller. I get the impression he is quite prolific in how much he produces.
Make sure you check out the article itself and follow through the step by step work at
http://www.trevorlingard.co.uk/articles/introducing_figures_to_your_pain.htm
(note to self: a nice way of mixing skin tone!)
and http://www.trevorlingard.co.uk/ for his main info and website to see his rather amazing gallergy
and follow him on facebook https://www.facebook.com/trevorlingardwatercolours
So have I spoken to him yet? Nope. He rides with the ‘C’ ride and I tend to be on the ‘B’ ride. I wouldn’t have even known that he was an artist had a common friend (that is, a friend to both of us…not that my friend is common!) not told me. (update…have now…splendid bloke!!!)
Half term next week, so I might get a chance to finish off the series of pictures I am doing for the inlaws, and get more of that story written too.
(there’s another artist in the bike club I’ve been meaning to put a link to…I will get that sorted soon…maybe we should form a society of cycling artists!)
