In laws want some pictures of Lancashire scenes. So this is the first of out industrial and Victorian heritage. Blackpool.

Known to all as the place to go to for hen and stag nights. It’s all glam and more glam… On the surface. One street back there is poverty like you wouldn’t imagine. People struggling. Pain and suffering. High suicide and drug use.

Once the jewel in Lancashires crown it’s now the bit left over at the end of a long day on a car boot sale. Very sad.

But people call it home. And many people work incredibly hard there. Much of its fame and heartbreak are as a result of tourism, and it being so seasonal. The Victorians built it, then expanded down the sea front, leaving the heart to die out of it, literally.

You can tell its intention. Ever wondered why is Blackpool just like the Eiffel Tower? That’s because it was modelled on it! Why shouldn’t Lancashire have its own wonder of the world!
