I wrote in this post about how my development of images has changed. So I won’t repeat it for this first of two images from Brimham rocks. The hardest bit to decide what to do was the two ‘eye socket’ like caves.
What I try to do in these images is keep a sense of volume using shading techniques, and paying attention to shadows, so the textures are denser there, but the textures still have to follow the line of the rock forms. Quite tricky if you think about it.
